What you can get here that a chat window cannot give you
ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Gemini are excellent at answering a question. They are not built to grade the evidence behind the answer, test whether you mastered it, issue a credential for it, keep it as a citable record, or refund you when the service fails. Those are the jobs this institute is built around.
QTI Research Philosophy
“QTI seeks extraordinary knowledge without extraordinary claims. We distinguish what is demonstrated from what is hypothesized, what is philosophically argued from what is experimentally established, and what is technologically possible from what has actually been built.”
“QTI does not require users to abandon spiritual or philosophical beliefs. It requires that empirical claims be presented with evidence appropriate to their strength.”
The short answer: a chatbot is a conversation; QTI is an institution that uses AI as an engine. The same AI ability sits underneath, but here the output lands in a graded research record, a scored assessment, an issued certificate, or a refunded order — things a chat thread has no mechanism to produce. This is not a replacement for those tools; it is what you use when the answer has to survive outside the conversation.
Side by side
A credential you can point to
General AI chat app
The answer disappears into a chat thread with no record outside it.
Here at QTI
An issued certificate with a certificate ID, a printable PDF, a device stamp and a stored record.
Every claim graded, not just phrased confidently
General AI chat app
Fluent prose, with no rating of how strong the underlying evidence is.
Here at QTI
An eight-level Evidence Classification System (established → speculative) applied to every claim, article and AI analysis.
A mastery gate instead of an instant answer
General AI chat app
Always produces an answer, so nothing is ever passed or failed.
Here at QTI
Adaptive assessments you must pass outright before a certificate is issued — the certificate means you cleared the gate.
A permanent, citable research record
General AI chat app
Chat history is ephemeral and cannot be cited as a body of work.
Here at QTI
Research library with citations and provenance, tracked research programs, and auto-generated monthly PDF archives.
Philosophy turned into experiments you can run
General AI chat app
Discusses a philosophical question in words only.
Here at QTI
The Applied Metaphysics Lab restates the question as a falsifiable experiment with measurable variables and runnable Wolfram Language code.
Paid AI that fails is refunded automatically
General AI chat app
No purchase, so no remedy when an answer is wrong or the service is down.
Here at QTI
Every paid AI feature is guarded: a failed call is logged, refunded and reported to both the buyer and the operator without being asked.
The business behind the tool is public
General AI chat app
Pricing, revenue and ownership are opaque.
Here at QTI
Business plan, revenue model, advertising revenue and per-item pricing are all published on the site.
Advocacy that ends in a tracked record
General AI chat app
Drafts a letter and forgets it.
Here at QTI
Civic Contact records who you contacted, how, what they answered, and issues a certificate of the action taken.
No account needed to use most of it
General AI chat app
Requires an account and a subscription to start.
Here at QTI
The research, education and advocacy tools open without signing in; payment is opt-in, per item, only where an AI service costs money.
Where to start
Each of these runs on the same AI, but leaves you with something a chat thread cannot: a scored result, an archived experiment, or a certificate.
Who is behind it
QTI is an independent, non-denominational religious pluralist institute founded by Alexander Luke Ohnemus. It is currently being developed inside a business incubator at Cosumnes River College. The college has not endorsed, sponsored or accredited QTI, and QTI is not an accredited institution.
